Qualifying from Roehampton in February 2002, he works for the NHS in a Creative Therapy Team, where the mental health needs of adults with or without learning disabilities are addressed through Music, Art, Drama, and Dance/Movement Therapies. He spent six years working in a school for children with visual impairments and learning disabilities, and now works for  Sound Waves South West two days a week.

Recently, he has set up a special interest group for  the Association for Professional Music Therapists, for those therapists that work with clients diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Last Summer he presented a paper at the European Congress of Music Therapy in Eindhoven entitled “Parallel Journeys: How a Music Therapist can travel with his client”. He  also presented a paper at the Annual APMT/BSMT conference in London, 2003, entitled “Faith, Spirituality and Music Therapy: the appropriateness of addressing spiritual needs in Music Therapy” At the Sound Waves South West conference in 2006 he spoke about his work in two special needs schools in Barnstaple.
