This Award was set up in 2012 in memory of former Trustees Maggie Perryman and John Bolitho both of whom contributed substantially to the work of Sound Waves South West. The award is given yearly to a young person demonstrating Musical Achievement

The deadline for this year’s applications is Friday 12th June 2020 and the winner will be announced on 3rd July 2020. The Award Ceremony will be held on Saturday 18th July 2020. The winner will receive a certificate and £100. The runner up will receive £50. All those nominated will receive a certificate.
Congratulations to the 2019 winner, Bobbo Peers, pictured below right, with runner-up Maryasha Elvey and SWSW Patron, Dr Rosie Richardson, who presented the prizes. Bobbo from the Atlantic Academy is an outstanding musician who plays the saxophone and piano, as well as being an excellent singer. He has taken the lead role at the Bude Youth Theatre musical productions at Budehaven, having also composed one of the songs for their latest performance. Maryasha, from West Buckland Prep School, plays the piano and violin. She also sings in two choirs and plays percussion in the Wind Band at School. They have both made great contributions to Music in the Community in their local areas.
