2023 Summer Party & Award For Excellence
The SWSW annual summer party and awards for local music talent was once again a resounding success. Supporters and visitors were treated to the sounds of the Fletchtet Jazz Band from Truro whilst tucking in to a sumptuous cream tea.
The highlight of the afternoon was the Award For Excellence which celebrates the progress made by individuals in their chosen musical field. The 2023 winner was Rowan Tidball (clarinet) who has, been successful in securing a place at the renowned Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. The runner up Jack Plusnin, was a young Cellist from Okehampton. They both excelled in their instruments and contributed greatly to music in the community.
